"In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."
I Thessalonians 5:18
Dear Church Family,
In this space today I want to carry out what the above Scripture commands us to do - give thanks!
First of all, I want to give thanks to all the people who made our Advent and Christmas season so wonderful and honoring to the Lord! From our Director of Music Ministry, Jeanelle, who put together our tremendous worship music, to the many gifted and talented musicians and singers, to the creative folks who decorated the church, to everyone else who made this such a blessed season - Thank You! We as a church family are so blessed to have so many wonderful people ministering in so many ways! God bless each of you as you have blessed us!
A second note of “thanks” goes to our One Hundred Year Anniversary Committee for helping us kick off our year of celebration with a New Year’s Eve service and game night! How good it was to sing praises to the Lord, share from His word about His faithfulness and that of those who have gone before us in our church, and to pray for our future for the next 100 years (if the Lord Jesus tarries in His return)! We are so excited about this year as we do celebrate this huge milestone of being a witness for Christ as a church body for so long! Thank you to those who are helping us celebrate so well and most of all we give thanks to our Lord for the privilege of being part of His great work at Ustick Baptist Church!
Finally, I want to express a personal “thank you” on behalf of myself and all the staff for the amazing and generous Christmas “love gift” that was given to us by the church. Serving here is such a great privilege and this gift is such an encouragement for all of us in ministry! Thank you for your kindness, generosity and support! You have truly blessed us!
Now as we launch into 2008 I pray that we will be quick to give thanks in everything we anticipate God will do in and through us in this new year. May we “run with endurance the race that is set before us” (Hebrews 12:1), looking to the Lord that we will remain faithful to Christ and His kingdom! I look forward to a wonderful and exciting new year with you dear and beloved friends and fellow servants of Christ.
Serving with you,
