Dear Church Family,
As we still “bask in the glow” of our wonderful and moving services for Easter week, we now find ourselves looking forward to the additional celebrations of April! No, I’m not talking about my birthday on April 22 with there only being 27 more shopping days left as I write! That would be very tacky of me to bring that up.
Actually what I’m talking about is our 100 Year Anniversary Celebration on Sunday, April 20! We begin the day with our worship service (one service only) from 10am until noon. This will be a wonderful time of celebrating God’s faithfulness to our church for the 100 years of our existence! We will welcome former members and staff as well as the many people connected with Ustick over its years of existence. Our music will include songs from the different eras of our church and we will share highlights of God’s work in and among us over the years. Plus we will have the privilege of hearing from Dr. Bob Garcia, retired pastor and former staff member at Ustick Baptist. It promises to be a wonderful and God-honoring time together that you won’t want to miss!
Then in the evening we have our special dessert celebration at the Double Tree Riverside Hotel at 6pm. There will be some amazing music from The Faithful Men singing group. In addition we will be blessed by a special video presentation of our church’s history capped off by another special message by Dr. Garcia. There will also be some other special parts of our time together you won’t want to miss as well!
All in all this will be a memorable time of celebrating the reality of God’s gracious work in and through Ustick Baptist Church for 100 years! Indeed, “Great is His faithfulness”!
On a personal note, I also want to praise the Lord for allowing Jeanelle and I to minister here at Ustick for 20 years! Our ministry began here in 1988 this April and so this month’s time of celebration brings a double blessing to us in seeing God’s faithfulness in giving us the privilege of serving God’s people here at Ustick Baptist for one-fifth of its existence! Amazing!
I pray that you will be able to join us in celebrating the goodness of God through the journey of our church these last 100 years and that we will never, ever forget His faithfulness!
